Library management looks at ways to further cut spending in FY 2016.

The Fairfax County Public Library is looking at ways to cut its already shrinking budget another eight percent for the next County budget year, FY 2016.  In looking for "mission savings," the library management held a brainstorming session on November 4, 2014, to generate and explore options.  These options are presented below in categories reflecting their expected cost savings.  We will note that the ideas are options, not decisions--some of which would adversely affect library service quality (a criterion not considered in generating this list)--but we expect some may be seen in the forthcoming FY 2016 County budget.
