Everyone is invited to a ceremony honoring 2013 RCA Citizen of the Year Kathy Kaplan,
which will be held on Monday, March 10th at 7:30 PM at RCC Hunters
Woods. The ceremony will feature remarks by RCA President Colin Mills,
as well as RCA Board member Terry Maynard, who nominated Kathy for the
award.
Kathy will be presented with an official certificate commemorating her
award, and her name will be added to the plaque containing the names of
past Citizen of the Year winners, including Embry Rucker, Janet Howell,
Dave Edwards, Cate Fulkerson, and many others. The plaque will remain
on permanent display at the RCC. Following the ceremony, light
refreshments will be served.
No tickets or advance reservation is required to attend the ceremony.

Kathy has done the Reston community great service by bringing to light the County's efforts to downgrade and downsize our public libraries, starting with Reston Regional. If you love libraries, books, KNOWLEDGE, I urge you to come--and bring some friends--to this brief, informal ceremony to commend Kathy for her work.
