The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority came under fire again this week because of the projected costs of the Dulles Metrorail extension.Matt Vecchio/Loudoun Times-Mirror
Two residents filed a lawsuit Thursday, claiming it is unconstitutional for the authority to raise revenues for the Dulles Metrorail extension through the Dulles Toll Road. The authority is using bonds backed by toll revenue to pay for a large portion of the $6 billion project.
Meanwhile, Virginia officials are continuing to highlight their opposition to the airports authority Board of Directors' recent decision to build an underground station that will cost about $330 million more and take about six months longer to complete than an above-ground station near the airport's north parking garage. . . .
