By LIbrary DefendersClick here for the rest of the background on tomorrow's hearing.
The Fairfax County Public Library Board will present a report to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at the Fairfax County Government Center on Tuesday Morning, November 19th.
We believe it is essential that library supporters be a visible presence at that presentation.
We will be meeting at the Board auditorium at 10:00 am Tuesday. Everyone is encouraged to wear purple if possible. We will have "I Support Quality Library" buttons and stickers for folks to wear.
Library Board Chair Will Jasper will be presenting to the Supervisors the reports from both the Evaluation & Communications Committee - which focused on gathering public and staff input on the proposed "Beta plan" and the desired future direction of Fairfax libraries - and the committee which focused on weeding , discards, and floating in light of the scandal over hundreds of thousands of library books ending up in a dumpster. . . .
Reston 20/20 is an independent Reston citizens committee dedicated to sustaining Reston's quality of life through excellence in community planning, zoning, and development.
