Residents and business owners in the Lake Anne area of Reston have long known that the community's historic core needs to change in order to remain viable.

After years of discussion and debate about what is best for the area's future, civic leaders are now looking for ways to make that change happen.

Consultants working on a revitalization plan for Lake Anne Village Center say that the community, particularly the merchants, needs to unite behind common goals and to implement a mechanism for achieving those goals.
