Monday of next week is the deadline for the Senate Appropriations and
Finance Committee to decide whether to consider Senator Marsden's 2024
casino bill for action in 2025. While Senator Marsden has said a
decision to consider his 2024 bill in 2025 is not likely
to happen, that leaves open the possibility that it could happen.
Stranger things have happened.
Tuesday of next week is when the Board of Supervisors holds a public
hearing on its Legislative Program for Richmond. That's the list of
their wants and don't wants. As of today, the casino issue is not
addressed in its list.
Now is an excellent time to let our elected officials know that you oppose a casino.
